I love flip flops! If I could wear them all year round I would. But a funny thing started happening a few months ago. I would wear my Old Navy flip flops to work a few days a week and I'd notice a stiff, aching pain in my back and sore knees after work. I just chalked it up to having a labor intensive job. (You'd never believe how hard working at a doggie daycare is on your body!) Then a few weeks ago I put two and two together and realized it was the flip flops! A sad but necessary revelation...
ON flip flops are flat with a lot of give in the material once you wear them in. They offer virtually no support. I realize now that I am
*gasp* aging and I definitely need more support. My job is hard on my back and knees, so I need to take preventative measures now to lessen the damage. I also wear these flip flops around the house and out and about and I'm starting to think that this has contributed more to my lower back pain than I thought. So farewell, my beloved ON flip flops. You're fun, colorful, and super cheap, but it's time to move on to a more
*ahem* grown-up sandal...I'll miss you!
*single tear*The good news is, I've found a few stylish yet functional alternatives that I like AND I made a rockin' style board to share them with you! The bad news is flip flop season is almost over :P (Actually I think that's good news too, because that means I can catch great sales!) No matter what, I still need a great pair and Memphis weather is so unpredictable that we could have another month and a half of warm weather, lol. Right now I'm leaning towards the Keen or the Reef shoes. I have a pair of keen shoes and they are so comfortable and well made. I trust the brand so I already know I will love their flip flop. I like the Reef Fanning's because they are so stylish and modern. I love the bright colors! Hmm...decisions, decisions. Which ones do you like?
Got any super cute yet functional flip flop recommendations?
If so, comment away!

My husband wears Cobian flip flops (I can only find them at surf/skate shops) and he LOVES them. I'm not sure what kind of women's styles they have though.
