ACK! I need some motivation...

I definitely think my vacation last week spoiled the hell out of me, blech! I really have not been creative at all this week and I have SO much LAMC stuff to do. I am ashamed to say I have not touched polymer clay in over two week and that's just not acceptable to me! I am going to take part in a indie craft fair/swanky gathering in California by donating some goodies for gift baskets. (By some goodies I mean 50. Plus 50 business cards too. Oh did I mention I don't have business cards yet, haha. I suck terribly, I know) So I have to make a bunch of stuff, package it, and get my business cards designed and printed by September 10th or so. That is ample time but I am a procrastinator and I have a FT job which makes me super tired most days. I also have a lot of new products to make for the shop which takes up a lot of time for me too. SO, I am going to have to buckle down and really get focused again. In retrospect, I think I could have done a lot more on my vacation BUT I really needed to rest too. I am not going to beat myself up about it though...I'll get it together!

I am also going to talk to a lawyer (for free YAY! So glad the boy works for a law office doing techie work) about what I need to do about taxes and all of that legal type jazz. I really want his advice on TN state laws about that kind of stuff so that I don't make any mistakes and end up paying for it later. It's scary but exciting to really be doing it, you know? We'll see where it goes. I'm going to be getting my domain and trademarking my slogan soon too. (I can't wait to share my slogan with you but I'm keeping it under wraps until it's officially trademarked.)

But anyway, back to the motivation thing! If you have any books, songs, blogs, recipes etc. that really inspire and motivate you please comment and share them with me! I need some uplifting content right now...I'm in a bit of a funk and I don't want to keep wallowing in it.

Please and thank you!

p.s. I'll add some inspiration for myself...Kate Moss in French Vogue. She is one of my favorite models and I have ALWAYS loved her look. She looks like a completely bad ass in this picture. (even though smoking is bad!) I love her hair and jacket especially! Rock on Kate!

Good luck! That sounds like a lot of work. lol

One place I like to go to for inspiration is: http://greenweddingshoes.blogspot.com/

Even though it's about weddings it has so much beautiful photography and designs that I can't help but feel inspired. Maybe browsing around there will inspire you too! :)

I'm going to write a post on inspiration (art wise) soon, I'll send it your way when I do! That photo of Kate is so lovely - and taxes are scary!

Seems like you might know this quote already. :D

I have the same problem with motivation. It takes discipline to put together a body of work and perfect your craft. I'm a hedonist...discipline does not come natural for me. Every day is a struggle to be productive. Try to be good to yourself though...little baby steps...you will get there...in fact you have come so far since I started reading your blog a year ago! Hugs x

LHD -- i feel you on that. i used to be a disciplined person but I kind of lost my way once i moved out on my own. it is a daily struggle for me too but the hope of being better and living a more fulfilled life through my creativity keeps me going. when i look back i think i have come a long way. thanks for reminding me of that!

you guys have inspired me to make something tonight! thank you :)
