House Tour: The Beginning Stages, Pt. 2

Hey yall! Let's move on to the rest of the house shall we? (If you missed pt.1, click here!) We left off with a view from the living room into the dining room...now let's take a closer look at the dining room...

Dining Room
I love the floors!! We've got a table lined up but we want to look around a bit more to make sure it's the one.

Kitchen
The green tiles and the arched area above window are my favorite part! I want new hardware for the cabinets and pretty curtains in here. They painted the walls cream and the cabinets white which looks really odd and I'm not sure why they did it. We're going to paint the walls white for bright bright kitchen. I want to add color with all the accessories...

Kitchen
Note the dishwasher, YAY! These floors suck SO bad, we are going to pull the sticky tiles up and maybe do FLOR tiles in the kitchen OR just seal the wood that's underneath and have a big area rug over it. Either way, no more sticky tiles that suck!!

Kitchen light
love love love our light in the kitchen! I don't know if you can tell or not but it's very very big. I love how vintagey looking it is :D

Back steps
The kitchen door leads you to the backyard. Down the steps we go :D

Back yard
To your right, lots of room for more shrubs and flowers. I can't wait to garden!

The Shop
On the other side of the fence to the left, the boy's man cave, LOL. It's it cute? I love the weather vane on the top of it :D See it?

The gazebo
The gazebo! It needs a little work, like a door, new screens, paint, and some new wood on the roof, but I love it! I want to put a small table and some chairs out here and cute lights all around. This is going to be the hang out spot come spring!

There's a grill in the gazebo
The built in grill (inside the gazebo). Needs a good cleaning, but I was so hyped to find out the house came with this!!

Back half of the backyard
The back half of the yard. I LOVE how big our backyard is!! But I probably won't like raking it haha. There's so many little trees and shrubs along both sides of the fence. It's going to look so different in a few months :)

Well that's it...I hope you enjoy the little tour! Stay tuned for many many many more house updates as we make this little house our home :D

Storage Is Up In My Studio!

The Studio: I put my shelves up!

The Studio - Right Wall

The Studio: I put my shelves up!

Today I did a little work in the studio and I'm so happy! We have these two bathroom storage cabinets because we had ZERO storage in our bathroom at the old house...but now in our new, wonderful house lol, we don't need the extra storage so I get to use them in my studio, YAY! I've been waiting for the boy to put them up and I got tired of waiting! (But it's okay because he's been sick for a few weeks now so I don't blame him. He's finally getting better after getting antibiotics.) So I got the tools and put them up myself and it was not easy, but I did it! The hardest part is holding up the cabinet and trying to screw it to the wall at the same time. Luckily they're not too heavy :D I don't think they're 100% level but they're damn close ;) I also put up my cork board too! It looks kind of funny without a table there, but there will be one soon. I am heading out this week to find a long long folding table. Ideally I'll have a desk one day but for now, this fits the budget ;)

I am not sure if the cabinets are going to get painted or not but I am sure the walls will. I'm not ready to even think about all of that yet. I'm trying to get the room functional first and super cute second :) I think the bookcase will be moved and a peg board will go in it's place. I can't wait to have all of my acrylic paint hung up. I have an awesome way to do it and I can't wait to show you :D I also can't wait to get all my indie art and posters up in there...and pictures of the boy and Bebe of course...this is all so exciting!

Our New Little House...

Our new house
I know I'm soooo late with pictures of my new place, but I've been so busy! So here's a little sneak peek for you. What do you think? The boy fell in love with the green shudders the first day we say it :) It's a 2 beroom, 1 bathroom house that was built in the 1930's. I can't wait to show you the inside! We've got so much to arrange, organize, and purchase before this house will feel completely like home but it's so wonderful living here now. Words cannot begin to express how much happier I am with in this space. There's so much more room and it just feels like we are meant to be here. I am so inspired to live the life I've always wanted here and I can't wait to share that journey with all of you!

We're surrounded by trees
We're surrounded by beautifully wide and tall oak trees...and lots of bushes and shrubs in the backyard. I can't wait to work on the landscaping. Things are overgrown and dead now, but come Spring when everything comes to life, I'm going to have some work on my hands :)

There's really not much else to tell right now. I've got to run and get some stuff from Home Depot. We've got a few repairs to make to our old place. Once we do that and do some mopping and scrubbing, we'll be done over there. When I get to drive away from that house for the last time, I'll be wearing the biggest smile ever. I won't miss it one bit. I realize now that me and the boy had to go through living there to make us stronger and we are! I am so ready for 2010!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. We had a wonderful time and maybe I'll get around to posting about it. If I don't, just know that I had the best cranberry margaritas and homemade coconut cake EVER! (It's the boy's grandmother's recipe and omg it's insanely yummy!) Later on that night we had our first fire in our fireplace and it was so magical. Sitting in front of that fire, warming my toes...it was the happiest (and most child-like) I've been in a while!

Original door knob
Stay tuned for pictures of the inside of the house...
coming sooner than you think ;)

P.S. Check Out This Crazy Good New House Find!

 SCORE!
Check out this awesome pitcher! Whoever lived her before us left it in the cupboard. (umm ,score? yes!) I've been wanting a glass pitcher for so long now and to get one for free is sweeeeet. :D I wish you could feel how heavy it is. I have to brace myself before lifting. It's solid! It will be perfect for filling with beer or margaritas, yay! LOL ;) But for now we'll settle for lemonade, okay? ;)

*please note the dazzling pine green tile in my new kitchen. I am in love with it...I've always had a thing for pine green and lemon yellow...
