A BLYTHE DOLL! Like really really BAD!
and guess what...I GOT ONE! woo hooooooooo :D I found a really good deal on an Ashton Drake Blythe with free shipping! I know a lot of people hate on them and prefer the Takara's but personally, I don't care. I'm not going to get all bent out of shape or elitist about a doll, lol. *shrugs* I wanted a Blythe and I got one for a good price so I'm happy. I'll get a Takara eventually but for now, I'm good ;) Another goal for 2010 is to get 2-3 dolls and learn to customize them. (As if I need another hobby, lol) Many of the dolls you see above have been customized from their original look. (Customizing = sand-matting on the face, gaze correction, lip carving, new eye chips, new make up, rerooting/trimming/or styling hair, and many other neat things!) I really want to learn to do this and share it with you all along the way :D
I don't know what it is about these dolls but I can literally spend hours and hours looking at photos of them on flickr. They're just so cute and special!
Do you have/want a Blythe??
p.s. Check out

it's weird how photogenic these dolls are! they look like a lot of fun to customize and style. be sure to post pics once you've dressed her up!
I know! It's so weird how some of them just look like little girls lol. I will ;)
Congrats on getting your doll. I love Blythe dolls as well, but I'm into 1:12 minis so they're a little bit too big for me. I'd love to get some Erna Meyer dolls this year though!
I totally love these dolls- but since I spend waaaay too much on my dollhouse I have tried to stay away from them and deny their cuteness! I would be really interested in how they are customized though- there are some really great doll artist's out there- I have seen some amazing customizations! I think it would be fun to make clothes for them. I love to sew little outfits for the old Ginny doll I have :)
